Since the onset of the pandemic, EssilorLuxottica’s primary objective has been to ensure the health and safety of its 140,000 employees worldwide, while supporting the industry and the communities where it operates. The following video highlights the Company’s efforts against COVID-19.

During the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Company immediately reinforced its hygiene practices, health checks protocols and established social distancing measures across its global network of offices, stores, factories, labs and distribution centers. EssilorLuxottica offered its partners, including eye care professionals, direct access to new health and sales protocols, personal protective equipment as well as enhanced digital tools in order to connect meaningfully via webinars, virtual summits and online training.

To continue supporting communities, EssilorLuxottica donated over 2 million units of personal protective equipment to hospitals, public institutions, employees and partners across the globe. In France, tens of thousands of safety goggles, protective eyewear and face masks were donated to essential front liners including personnel from the security forces and healthcare workers. In Italy, on behalf of the Italian government, the Company has been producing approximately 150 million masks since last September.
