Following the success of its 2022 international employee shareholding programs, 72,000 employees in 85 countries now hold a financial stake in EssilorLuxottica, reflecting their collective confidence in the Group’s strategy and mission

Following another successful International Employee Share Ownership ‘Boost’ Plan and the record investments achieved by the French PEE (the traditional French collective savings scheme) in 2022, the total number of active employee shareholders in the Group has reached its highest.

Despite a challenging global economic environment, the Boost 2022 results show that close to 58,000 eligible employees subscribed, with a high subscription rate of 65%. At the end of 2022, 72,000 employees in 85 countries now hold a financial stake in EssilorLuxottica. This continues to be a steady increase from approximately 67,000 in 2021 and 63,000 in 2020, reflecting the willingness of a large majority of employees to take an active part in the future performance of the Group.

Another record was also set this year by the PEE program, which also drives employee investments in share ownership: the subscription in 2022 gathered more than 30 million euros, an increase of 15% compared to 2021 and the highest amount ever reached since its implementation in 1979.

Also on the rise, the number of employees choosing to become members of Valoptec, the independent association of EssilorLuxottica employee shareholders, increased by 50% compared to last year. Close to 30,000 employees, former employees and retirees are members of Valoptec in 2022, showing their commitment to play an active role in the independent employee shareholder association.
