EssilorLuxottica remains committed to openly sharing the beauty of art with a wider audience — including those with visual impairments — through its latest ‘Eyes on Art’ initiatives.
In partnership with the Italy Patria della Bellezza Foundation (Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza), which promotes Italy’s beauty and talent in various forms, EssilorLuxottica awards a special ‘Eyes on Art’ prize to outstanding projects that promote cultural heritage and enhance the identity of exceptional locations.
The latest reward went to Horti, a 3.5-hectare urban public park located within Collegio Borromeo at the University of Pavia, Italy. This ‘garden of art’ serves as a natural haven for local fauna and flora, while welcoming exhibitions from renowned contemporary Italian artists. The space is enriched with a cultural proposal that promotes dialogue on the theme of living, and it also encourages social inclusion by supporting underserved communities through job-related initiatives.
With support from the EssilorLuxottica Creative Team, a video was produced and broadcast from May 5 to June 1 on EssilorLuxottica digital screens in key locations across Milan and New York City to showcase the park’s natural beauty as well as its social, cultural and environmental contributions. Throughout the month of June, the video was also displayed on all internal digital windows across the Group’s offices, bringing employees closer to the world of art.
Exploring Cézanne Through Touch
Advancing its pledge of making art accessible to all, EssilorLuxottica has again partnered with Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence, France. This time to develop three tactile devices that interpret famous works by French Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne, including ‘Les Joueurs de Cartes’, ‘Les Baigneuses’ and ‘Vue du Jas de Bouffan’.
Thanks to the Group’s skill-based sponsorship, blind and visually impaired visitors have the opportunity to explore these masterpieces in all independence and at their own leisure. These interpretations, created using cutting-edge printing technology, are designed to be enjoyed by touch, providing an unparalleled level of detail and precision.
The devices will be on display as part of an international exhibition entitled ‘Cézanne au Jas de Bouffan’, taking place from June 28 to October 12, 2025 at the museum.
