Launch of ‘Action for good vision on the road’, partnering with world leaders for safer roads

EssilorLuxottica continues to mobilize public and private stakeholders around good vision for safer roads with leading partners FIA, ACI and 24 Hours of Le Mans. 

EssilorLuxottica renewed its partnership with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) on the occasion of the FIA World Conference 2021 in Monaco in July as part of a recent #PurposeDriven movement launched by the FIA.

EssilorLuxottica kicked off this partnership with a global ‘Action for good vision on the road’ campaign to mobilize public institutions, mobility players and the optical industry on the recent United Nations call to ensure good vision for all road users and in turn, improve national road safety systems. As part of this partnership, the Company announced it would collaborate with FIA Member Clubs and is engaging its own extensive network of retail footprint in Italy, North America and Australia.

At World Sight Day, EssilorLuxottica, together with the Automobile Club of Italy (ACI) and players like IGP Decaux, launched the national campaign in Italy with important “out-of-home” visibility calling for regular eye checks for all road users.

EssilorLuxottica was also proudly represented at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in August to promote optimal ’24 hour vision’ on the road in all conditions. This followed an announcement of another three-year partnership between the Essilor lens brand and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), organizer of the iconic racing event – renowned laboratory of innovation. 

Together with its partners, EssilorLuxottica will continue to roll out a wide range of initiatives focused on awareness campaigns, innovation and global reach. These will include joint actions with the United Nations Road Safety Fund.
