Making good vision a global priority

EssilorLuxottica took action in 2021 to accelerate meaningful and impactful activities that support its mission of helping people “See More. Be More”.

Despite ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, EssilorLuxottica continued to actively respond to the world’s growing vision needs this year. In total as of 2021, the Company has created access to sustainable vision care for over 475 million people, developed 210 sustainable vision centers and trained nearly 19,000 primary vision care providers globally. In addition, to date over 2 million pairs of eyeglasses have now been pledged to people in need through the Buy One Give One program.

These initiatives were complemented by hundreds of philanthropic activities implemented across the globe throughout the year, including EssilorLuxottica’s first joint awareness campaign as a unified company for World Sight Day. This milestone successfully highlighted the importance of good vision and regular eye exams for children as well as included various outreach, eye screening and fundraising events for communities in need.

Through ongoing advocacy, awareness and engagement, EssilorLuxottica will continue to make good vision a global priority to help eliminate uncorrected poor vision by 2050.
