An exciting year full of award‑winning lens technologies and exclusive eyewear collections

EssilorLuxottica continued to deliver a rich pipeline of innovation in 2021 with its extensive portfolio of globally respected vision care and eyewear brands.

Marking a key milestone as a unified Company, EssilorLuxottica collaborated with Meta (formerly Facebook) to launch Ray-Ban Stories, next generation smart glasses that help consumers to capture, share, and listen through their most authentic moments.

Leading innovation in vision care, Transitions won the SILMO d’Or 2021 award for its revolutionary Transitions XTRActive Polarized lens as well as hosted a first-of-its-kind global virtual event in 13 languages for over 10,000 eye care professionals. Another ground-breaking development was introduced with the Vision-S 700 immersive refraction station, which is an ultra-compact, revolutionary device that allows for smoother and faster eye examinations.

Meanwhile, trust and satisfaction were reinforced with powerful campaigns for key EssilorLuxottica lens brands, including “Crizal, an invisible shield that protects your eyes and your lenses” to announce the brand’s new core product range; and “See No Limits” to educate consumers on Varilux progressive lenses.

The Company continued to focus on excellence in all of its eyewear brands and licenses, with Oliver Peoples and luxury lifestyle brand Brunello Cucinelli designing five exclusive frame models; Persol teaming up with fashion label JW Anderson to launch a limited-edition collection; and the ZAYN X ARNETTE collection created in collaboration with music artist Zayn Malik, the brand’s newest ambassador.

In addition, the new Oakley Kato sunglasses were engineered to revolutionize the face of sport, and Oakley also signed a multi-year partnership with professional basketball player Damian Lillard to contribute to his RESPECT program, which supports high school athletes to stay in school.
