Vision needs in China are rapidly growing amongst people of all ages, thanks to an increased awareness of vision care and the changing lifestyles of consumers. Against this backdrop, the Company is fully committed to the Chinese market and is accelerating its pace in bringing more cutting-edge innovations to consumers and partners in the country while developing products which are tailored to the evolving Chinese consumer needs.

New Concept of "Talent, Products and Service" to Upgrade the Eye Health Ecosystem

In January 2022, the National Health Commission (NHC) China’s 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) on National Eye Health which highlights the need to further extend a high quality and efficient eye health service system. As a result, the entire eye health life cycle of the local population, particularly children and the elderly, has been given unprecedented attention along with new requirements to advance the development of the eyecare industry. Responding to the 14th Five-Year Plan, at this year’s CIIE EssilorLuxottica proposed the concept of upgrading the industry’s "talent – products – service."

To ensure a successful implementation of its concept, EssilorLuxottica initiated key industry partnerships, including a collaboration with the Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Center and with the National Inspection & Testing Centre for Ophthalmic Optic Glass and Enamel Products to promote the development of Chinese standards and ISO standards in the field of ophthalmic optics. To promote standard Eye care professionals (ECP) services, in order to provide consumers with a more scientific lens fitting experience, the Group joined hands with the Asian Optometric Management Academy to kick off an upgraded version of the Myopia Management Program. Finally, to provide Chinese consumers with a better photochromic lenses experience and improve their awareness of light management, the Group signed a three-year agreement with Nova Vision, the parent company of Baodao on Transitions.

In the design process, EssilorLuxottica makes it a point to focus on users’ needs and the products’ social benefits. While ensuring product safety and comfort, the Company keeps innovating its products, and combining vision care with fashion trends and sports, making it beneficial to the sustainable development of society.
