EssilorLuxottica enjoys another successful round of Silmo

It was an opportunity for the Group to present its major innovations and collections as an integrated end-to-end omnichannel company
at one of the largest and most respected optical trade fairs in the world.


The 29th edition of Silmo, the international optics and eyewear trade fair in Paris, took place from Sep 23 – 26, 2022. The show ground for everything optical welcomed international visitors and industry professionals at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center, including opticians, optometrists, ophtalmologists and manufacturers. This year, EssilorLuxottica highlighted its strong portfolio of major innovations and collections as a new integrated end-to-end omnichannel company along with the presence of its key entities. It was also Fedon’s and Barberini’s* first participation at the event, as part of the EssilorLuxottica booth.


Featuring major innovations, as part of the Company’s promise to grow the industry


The EssilorLuxottica booth was a reflection of the Group’s ambition to grow the industry and support value creation for all its stakeholders, thanks to its complete vision in lenses, frames and instruments, focus on the customer experience, and partnerships with leading companies, experts and influencers. The booth this year had seven major areas including a lounge space with the following themes: Passion of Excellence (embodied by historical brands Persol and Varilux), Moments of Life (featuring Ray-Ban Stories and a new gaming offer in frames and lenses), Children (featuring Stellest to slow down myopia progression in children), Expertise and Training (with a spotlight on the open learning platform Leonardo), as well as, Instruments (presenting Vision R 800 and Wam 800). The Group’s other key vision brands and innovations were presented to the public, including Transitions.


Other innovations from around the Group presented at SILMO


This year, Mont-Royal presented a new CLARTIS treatment with unequaled user comfort, UV protection and enhanced scratch resistance. A second pair offer in its Excellence product range to help opticians to develop added value. The redesign of the basic shades in RX is more adapted to current trends.


Novacel presented its new optimized lens: the NEOPERFECT Prime which takes point-by-point correction into account to ensure clear vision, a new business optimization tool called NovaGrille, as well as an update of its standardized optical equipment offer called Aksess. 


Nikon presented two major product innovations in line with the company’s DNA: Eyecurasee™, which reinforces precision in the eye examination, to deliver a highly accurate and precise prescription measured at 0.01D1 step, 25x greater resolution2 than traditional eye exams. The other highlight was SeeCoat ™ Next UV, the latest anti-reflective technology for all its lens ranges, which offers exceptional clarity and improved durability. The company also presented the Nikon Vision Experience which provides a groundbreaking and more accurate eye examination in order to provide lens solutions tailored with care and precision to meet their customers' needs.


*Fedon is a leader in the production and distribution of eyeglass cases and accessories for eyewear and joined the Group in May 2022. Barberini is a world’s leading optical glass sun lens brand which offers high-quality optical glass lenses and has been part of the Group since August 2019.
