Exploring a new journey through organic and sustainable agriculture in the Abruzzo (Italy) region.

Following EssilorLuxottica’s visionary strategy, a new sustainability initiative has been launched thanks to the recovery and reconversion of industrial land around its renowned Barberini lens production plant.


EssilorLuxottica’s first large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic system as well as a dedicated area for growing quality agricultural crops have come to life over 40 hectares next to the plant, allowing nature, innovation and well-being to convene harmoniously.  

Oasi Barberini – or ‘Oasis’ in English – is the name of its new organic and sustainable product line, representing how EssilorLuxottica’s commitment to quality, innovation and respect for the environment has enriched the lands of Città Sant'Angelo, located in the heart of Abruzzo, a region steeped in tradition and biodiversity.
