The Ray-Ban I Meta Collection combines EssilorLuxottica’s leadership in iconic eyewear and advanced lens technology with Meta’s expertise in connecting people to produce the next generation of innovative smart glasses, marking a new milestone in the duo’s partnership.
EssilorLuxottica continues to boldly build on its expertise in smart eyewear with the release of the new Ray-Ban I Meta smart glasses during Meta’s live streaming annual developer conference, Meta Connect.
Stepping into a future where digital and physical realities intertwine seamlessly to fuel a new era of augmented experience, the Ray-Ban I Meta Collection is in a category of its own as the first smart glasses to seamlessly incorporate artificial intelligence and live streaming.
Ray-Ban I Meta smart glasses offer all-day wear design with the most advanced hardware features compared to others in the market, and include many exciting superpowers. To start, discreet open-ear speakers increase bass response and noise suppression for a more complete audio experience, with five built-in microphones to support seamless switching between music and calls.
A single ultrawide 12 MP camera delivers high-quality photos and immersive 1080p videos, with better performance even in low light conditions, plus improved portrait sensors optimize content for social media. Meanwhile, livestream broadcasting allows content creators to share experiences in real time hands-free so they can truly express themselves in an authentic way. Wearers can toggle between the glasses and the phone and camera to Instagram Live or Facebook Live for up to 30 minutes.
Currently available only in the US market, Ray-Ban I Meta smart glasses also integrate Artificial Intelligence. With AI assistance, wearers can use the voice prompt “Hey Meta” to dive deeper into a moment of creativity or get information on the go.
With a refined design for comfortable wear all day, every day, Ray-Ban I Meta is available in Wayfarer and Wayfarer Large, the most recognizable frame and an icon since the 1950s, along with a new style to Ray-Ban, Headliner, a more inclusive and universal fitting design. All models come in iconic shiny black as well as in matte black, along with a new set of transparent options, including caramel, jeans and rebel black. The inspiration for these transparent versions comes from current trends in both the eyewear and tech worlds, and it gives the product a contemporary ‘seasonless’ feel.
The charging case has been completely redesigned to be more stylish, lighter, smaller and portable, closer resembling the classic and iconic Ray-Ban case. The glasses charge when in the case, which can provide eight full charges while on the go.
The Ray-Ban | Meta collection is available for purchase starting from October 17 at Ray-Ban stores, Ray-Ban.com and Meta.com as well as select EssilorLuxottica retail stores and through the Company’s wholesale distribution network in the US, UK, Italy, Ireland, Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
